Then for soft yolk but not runny, the time can be extended up to 7 minutes strongly, no more than that. With all eggs. And for hard-boiled, the time can be taken to 8 minutes or just up to 9 minutes to be sure the egg comes up boiled just right.

If you are using cold water, then you have to extend each of the time periods of the soft egg, hard boiled and runny yolk egg by 1.5 minutes. You can use a 12 minute complete for hard-boiled eggs.

And that also with either of the cold water or hot water at a starting point. With cold water, it is better to let it boil for 10 minutes and a few seconds more.
